The arty term for painting out-of-doors is en plein air, “in the full air.” Is there any outdoor activity less exciting than painting? While out painting in the local park today, I took a break and went for a stroll — and almost stepped on this rattlesnake. Being a red-blooded American male I did what any man would do, went back to get my camera! (Not for the squeamish).
