I’ve stopped caring what my current hosting company thinks and have signed up with HostGator. This site will be moving soon and I sure hope all the posts make it. If not, oh, well.

The current hosting company, HostDime, has been flaky at times, usually once a year. We’d go through a rough patch and then things would straighten out. The last two weeks have been beyond belief. I’ve filed close to a dozen tech support tickets for issues ranging from email outages to complete site outages. Each time the email goes down it takes them 5-12 hours to get it working. The second-latest outage showed up this morning, and took 5-1/2 hours. Then, a mere two hours later, the email went down again. I’d been checking out HostGator all day and finally determined that they would support all I needed the site to do, and just signed up.

For what it’s worth, I would strongly advise anyone looking for a new hosting company to avoid HostDime like the plague. They used to be okay but not anymore. I’ve written nicely but firmly to the owner a few times over the past 10 days, but he never replies. Maybe his email is down, too.
